The cornea and lens of our eyes are designed to focus light rays on the retina. However, when the cornea's shape is mismatched with the overall depth of the eye, we suffer vision impairment. This can occur as nearsightedness (or myopia), farsightedness (or Hyperopia), astigmatism and presbyopia.
